Ga. - March 15, 2010 – The season may have ended sooner than
she wanted, but the postseason accolades continue to grow for
Clayton State’s Teshymia Tillman. The Lakers’ 5-foot-10 junior guard
was honored over the weekend as a second team Daktronics
All-Southeast Region selection for women’s basketball. Tillman is
the first Clayton State player to earn All-Region honors since
Cateria Shaw was selected Division II All-Region and All-American by
the WBCA (Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association) in 2003.

VALDOSTA,
Ga. - March 14, 2010 –
Playing its first tournament
in nearly a month, the Clayton State Laker men’s golf team is currently
16th overall after the first round of the Southeastern Intercollegiate
on Sunday at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. The Lakers shot a 317 for
the opening round, and they are one stroke ahead of Rollins and three
strokes behind Delta State and eight off the pace of Carson-Newman in a
loaded 18-team field which features 11 programs ranked in the Golf
World/Nike Division II Top 25. Individually for Clayton State, senior
All-American Wade Binfield fired a 5-over-par 77 for the opening round.
He is six strokes of the lead.

S.C. - March 12, 2010 – Playing
in its sixth straight NCAA Division II National Tournament, the Clayton
State Laker women’s basketball team could not stop a late rally by
Tusculum on Friday as the Pioneers knocked off Clayton State 69-63 at
Lander’s Horne Arena. The defeat ends 19th-ranked Clayton State’s
season at 24-7 overall. Tusculum improves to 21-9 overall and will play
Francis Marion in the second round on Saturday at Lander. Tanisha
Woodard paced Clayton State with 15 points.

wins USTFCCCA Women’s Indoor Southeast Region Field Athlete of the Year

takes second regional honor for her career

MORROW,
Ga. - March 10, 2010 – The United States
Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced
its 49 athletes and coaches winning regional awards for the 2010 indoor
season. Among the honorees was Clayton State’s Natasha Gass, who won
USTFCCCA Women’s Southeast Region Athlete of the Year. This is the
second such award for Gass, a senior from Augusta, Ga. She also won the
award in 2007 as a freshman when Clayton State competed in the South
Region.
