CARLIE ANDERSON
Women's Assistant Basketball Coach

A four-year letterwinner at Clayton State, Carlie Anderson is on her first season on the Lakers women’s basketball coaching staff as a student assistant. She is finishing up her bachelor’s degree in integrative studies with a focus in education, scheduled to graduate in May.

Anderson steps into the coaching shoes following a solid playing career the last four seasons for the Lakers under head coaches A.C. McCullers and Dennis Cox. She finished her career as one of most prolific 3-point shooters in Clayton State women’s basketball history. She set the school career record for 3-point attempts with 470, is second all-time in 3-point baskets with 131, and holds the single-game mark for 3-point baskets with eight.

In addition, she also set the record for the most games ever played in with 117.

The last two seasons were especially strong for Anderson as she helped lead the Lakers to their two most successful seasons in program history. She helped pace Clayton State to its first ever Peach Belt Conference championship and first ever berth in the NCAA Division II National Tournament as a junior, followed by another berth in the NCAA Division II National Tournament last season.

At the conclusion of last season, Anderson was selected to the Peach Belt All-Sportsmanship Team.

A native of Hokes Bluff, Ala., Anderson signed with Clayton State in 2002 following a brilliant prep career at Hokes Bluff High School. She made All-Area and All-County for three straight seasons in basketball, and was also a standout in both softball and volleyball.
