Women's Assistant Basketball Coach
 

Shannon Reid is in her third season as an assistant coach with the Clayton State women’s basketball program. In addition to her coaching duties, she also assists in recruiting, scouting and basketball operations.

In two seasons, Reid has helped the Lakers to two straight trips to the NCAA Division II National Tournament, advancing to the second round in the South Atlantic Regional last season and the "Elite Eight" this season.

Before joining the staff at Clayton State, Reid coached one year at another Peach Belt Conference school - USC-Aiken. She helped lead the Lady Pacers to a 19-13 record in 2004-05, and their second trip to the NCAA Division II National Tournament. Prior to coaching at USC-Aiken, Reid was an assistant coach in 2003 at St. Andrews, an NCAA Division II school in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC).

Reid was a standout player at both the professional and college level. In Ireland, she was the only American in the Dart Killester Super League and was third on her squad in scoring.

A three-year starter at NCAA Division II Pfeiffer from the CVAC, Reid starred for the Falcons and helped lead the team to back-to-back CVAC Championships in 2003 and 2002. As a senior, she led the team to a 24-5 record, averaging 14 points per game and was named 2003 CVAC "Player of the Year."

In addition to these honors, she was a member of Pfeiffer’s 1,000-Point Club in only three seasons and ranked third in the nation in three-point field goal percentage in 2003.

Reid, a native of Granite Falls, N.C., is a 2003 graduate of Pfeiffer with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sports Management.
